To Whom it May Concern,
I am working with the Global Irminger Sea Array’s Deployment 6 Wire-Following Profiler data running from August 2019-2020. I noticed in the annotations that there was an implosion on 10 May 2020 which made all later data suspect, which is why they were not ingested into the OOI Data Portal. However, the Cruise Report which recovered the damaged WFP stated the implosion happened on 6 June 2020. Would it be possible to verify the date of the implosion and also receive the suspect data from the May through August 2020 period?
Respectfully,
Jose Cuevas
Hi Jose,
We will look closely at the data to verify exactly when it imploded. I will reply here once we have a more definitive answer.
Thank you for reaching out,
Collin
Hi Jose,
After looking closely at the raw data, we have determined that the WFP imploded after profile #372 which occurred on 9 June 2020. I have updated the annotation text and bounds to reflect this. Data collected after 9 June 2020 and up until recovery are still excluded from OOINET. If you were interested in looking at data collected after the implosion, the raw data can be found on our Raw Data Repo: https://rawdata.oceanobservatories.org/files/GI02HYPM/R00006/.
Thank you for bringing this discrepancy to our attention and please let me know if you have any other questions.
