Hello,
I would like to reprocess the raw ac-s signal data using the factory device files (.dev) and use any user calibrations (.cal) performed by OOI to help assess drift. For the factory info in the .dev files, I have been pulling the parsed coeffs via M2M, but there is other information within those files that I would like to parse out.
What would be the best way to obtain these files in their original form in bulk?
Thanks,
Hi Ian,
A lot of the .cal and .dev files are in Alfresco (the OOI document management system) here: https://alfresco.oceanobservatories.org/. Navigate to the main Document Library, then Documents> Instrument & Platform Documents> Calibration and Repair. The Cabled and CGSN cal documents are split up but if you find the OPTAA folders the files should be there.
You’ll have to log in using CILogon.
I say “a lot of” because I need to confirm that the files are up to date (there were changes being made to Alfresco that paused uploads for a bit). But it’s a good place to start.
Thanks,
Mike Vardaro
RCA Data Team
Hi again Ian,
I have updated all of the cabled OPTAA .cal and .dev files with everything we have up to 2026. There are a few instruments that are still out with Sea-Bird that will need updating once we get them back, but I’ll make sure those get kept up to date. So you should now have access to the RCA and OSU cabled OPTAA files. Let me know if you have any issues getting to them.
Cheers,
Mike V.
