Glider data missing some variables

Hi team,

I’m looking at some of the more recent glider data in the Irminger Sea and found that the depth/pressure variable and chl-a related-variables are missing from the following glider file on the THREDDS server. Is there a way to get an updated file with those variables?

Hi Kristen,

I took a look at the file you mentioned, and I agree with you. The file seems to be missing most science related variables. I will look into how/when that file was generated.

However, I would not recommend using the THREDDS server to access OOI glider data. Instead, I recommend using Data Explorer for visualizing glider data and the IOOS GDAC ERDDAP page to access the underlying NetCDF files that are ingested into Data Explorer.

@cdobson Is the nitrate data not a variable that is read into the IOOS GDAC ERDDAP? I know that GI566 from 2024 was outfitted with a SUNA and I can plot the data from the files downloaded from the THREDDS server but can’t find it on the glider DAC.

Apologies but that is correct. The SUNA is one of the instruments that we do not currently submit glider data to the GDAC for (the other is the DVL/ADCP). It is on our todo list to get SUNA data submitted but that has not been completed yet. We do not intend to submit DVL data to the GDAC at this time.

Right now the best way to get glider SUNA data is from OOINet/THREDDs so I am glad you were able to find it there.
