What is the timeline for getting fresh IFCB data from the Pioneer MAB Array uploaded to OOI’s data stream?

The timelines associated with OOI IFCB/PLIMS data becoming available to the public depend on the type of data being specified. At this time, OOI collects both moored PLIMS and shipboard (including data from both underway and discrete) IFCB data at the Pioneer MAB array.

Metadata (.hdr files) and fluorescence/scattering data (.adc files) for the moored PLIMS are provided via satellite telemetry in near-real-time. The full data set, including the images (.roi files) is provided after instrument recovery. Moored PLIMS recovery will take place approximately every six months. After recovery, images (.roi files) will be available in the Raw Data Archive within 1-2 months, and soon after that images will be available in the OOI IFCB Dashboard.

The shipboard IFCB collects underway and discrete samples during mooring operations cruises at Pioneer MAB, and these data and images are made available after the conclusion of these cruises first through the Raw Data Archive and soon after that in OOI’s IFCB Dashboard.

The URL for Pioneer 20 cruise data seems to be a dead link.

I am working on product generation to prepare for the upcoming OOIFB-sponsored workshop in June. Would it be possible to share the 2025 cruise raw data soon? I see this folder, but it appears to be empty: https://rawdata.oceanobservatories.org/files/cruise_data/Pioneer-MAB/Pioneer-21_AR87_2025-03-28/IFCB/

Related to my previous question, it would be helpful to sync the IFCB dashboard to be serving the 2025 cruise data. At this location, I only see 2024: IFCB dashboard

I tried to post this as a separate entry, but apparently I am limited to three posts (!?):
It would be helpful to have the mooring data accessible through the dashboard, not just the cruise data. Would you consider renaming the cruise data set from “Pioneer MAB” to “Pioneer MAB cruises”, then adding a new data set (in the same dashboard) called “Pioneer MAB mooring”?

Hi Heidi,

In terms of data, whatever IFCB data is available on the Dashboard or in the Raw Data Archive is what we have to share at the moment. For the most recent Pioneer cruise data, as well as the recovered mooring data, we are still in the process of downloading and assembling the datasets and associated metadata. This process can take a few weeks. I would just keep an eye on the Raw Data Archive for the data to be posted. Thanks for all of your help!

Thanks for your reply. I see all the mooring raw data already available for download–so that’s great! I’ll be more patient for the cruise data. But, also I don’t know where to find the dashboard for the mooring data. What is the URL (apparently not the same as for the cruise data)?

The OOIFB community workshop for IFCB is coming up soon so there’s some time crunch to get ready for that.
