OOINET is OOI’s legacy data portal and Data Explorer (DE) is the next generation of data exploration tool. Currently DE is at version 1 and does not have all the data loaded in it that OOINET does. More data will be loaded as the tool matures and is further developed. It is easy to see if the data a user wants is not in DE as it will show a place holder (grey box) and link to OOINET.
The DE is built utilizing pre-calculated data sets sitting on top of an ERDDAP server. This new architecture gives the tool more robust search and data visualization capabilities in a more intuitive interface.
